Esther Ijewere Receives Multiple Recognitions During Women’s Month

In celebration of Women’s Month, Esther Ijewere, media entrepreneur and women’s leadership advocate, has received several recognitions highlighting her continued work in amplifying women’s voices and celebrating female leadership.

She was recently nominated for the WCT FCT Woman of the Year Award, a recognition that acknowledges women creating meaningful impact within their communities and industries. While she did not make the finalist list, Esther expressed gratitude for the nomination, noting that being considered is itself an encouragement to continue the work of uplifting women.

Esther has also been named among the Top 100 Inspiring Women of 2026 by Minnesota Kind and Leadership Magazine, recognizing leaders who are driving positive change and impact across sectors. In addition, she was honoured as one of the Top 100 Women Winning by Boss Up Girl Co., a distinction celebrating women making remarkable strides in leadership, entrepreneurship, and social impact.

“These recognitions are deeply meaningful, not just personally but for the mission behind the work,” Esther said. “They reinforce the importance of creating platforms that spotlight, celebrate, and amplify women who are making a difference.”

Esther Ijewere is a media entrepreneur, storyteller, and women’s leadership advocate best known as the founder of Women of Rubies, a global platform dedicated to highlighting the achievements and stories of women creating impact across industries.

Through the platform, she has built a growing ecosystem that promotes visibility, storytelling, and opportunities for women entrepreneurs and professionals.

Her work in media, advocacy, and community leadership has earned her several international recognitions. Esther is a recipient of the Canada’s 100 Black Women to Watch Award and was named among the Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) Global Top 100 Under 40, a recognition held in support of the United Nations International Decade for People of African Descent, proclaimed under UN Resolution 68/237.

The MIPAD list recognizes high achievers of African descent globally and promotes recognition, justice, and development for Africa and its diaspora.

She has also received the Advocacy and Catalyst for Change Award from Universal Women Network, acknowledging her efforts in championing women’s empowerment and creating platforms that elevate women’s voices.

Reflecting on this year’s Women’s Month theme, “Give to Gain,” Esther emphasized the importance of women supporting and uplifting one another.

“When women create opportunities for each other, share platforms, and celebrate each other’s achievements, we all rise. Recognition reminds us of the power of community and the importance of continuing to uplift one another.”

Through her work in media, advocacy, and storytelling, Esther Ijewere continues to champion women’s stories, achievements, and leadership across industries while creating platforms that amplify impact and inspire the next generation of women leaders.
