This was the thrust at its recent programme held in Ajah, Lagos, which featured poetry, reading, public speaking, career talks, counselling, entertainment. The event had in attendance young persons between ages of 10 and 17 from schools in Lagbasa community and its environs.

Speaking at the event, an educator and phonologist, Mrs. Rosberg Micheal Esobeonu, emphasised on the importance of reading, proper diction and healthy plays which could save children from avoidable dangers and childhood trauma.

She taught skills on self-awareness, self-discovery, personal development for their future careers and advocate for more programmes on literary, poetry, debating, spoken words, science clubs, exchanged schools’ programmes to promote collaborations and networking.

In her good message, Chief Executive officer Smart Gas, Dr. Yinka Opeke advised children to embrace sciences and tech related courses that are relevant in this era. While environment consultant, Gloria Francis who spoke in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4, 13 and 15 – quality education, climate Action and life on land, emphasised on recycling, cleanliness and protection of the environment for healthy lifestyle and longevity.

Chief Executive Officer, Folio Tech Institute, Mr. Olufolahan Olumide urged the students to embrace Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and academics alongside their vocational skills, saying that collaboration would make them better persons in life. He emphasised on the importance of ICT, construction and vocational opportunities available for today’s world.

The Folio Tech institute boss said his school believes in “catching them young and helping the society to see the significance of early childhood education in technology.”

While child’s right expert, Anthony lmoleayomaria Obi, urged the students to read extensively and be abreast with latest innovation and technology to meet the 21st century. He advised them against cultism and other criminal activities, cautioning that such vices could affect their dreams and aspirations.
