A social enterprise, Mammy Nest has reiterated its commitment to reshaping the narrative, where society celebrates motherhood through idealised lenses while overlooking its complexities.
To curb such narrative, Founder, Mammy Nest, Dorcas Anani, emphasised the need to placing mothers at the centre of leadership, wellness, and personal growth.
She noted that their upcoming Mom’s Conference & Exhibition 2025, which would be held on September 28, in Lagos would teach mothers how to thrive without sacrificing their identities.
With the theme, “Mothers as Leaders: Elevating Family, Career, and Well-being Globally,” the event is set to draw over 500 women; mothers, expectant mothers, and those preparing for motherhood, into a shared space of transformation, learning, and celebration.
Speaking on her motivation for starting Mammy Nest, Zibi reflects on her mother’s journey of sacrifice and strength, a life often defined by dreams deferred for the sake of family.
“It’s easy to get swallowed up by the title and the never-ending chores. But I knew deep down that women don’t have to choose between their children and their dreams.”
According to her, Mammy Nest aims to challenge that age-old dilemma by encouraging women to pursue harmony, which is a blend of purpose, health, and ambition. The 2025 theme, according to organisers, is a call for mothers to step into their roles as global leaders both at home and beyond.
The conference would partner with Lagos State Ministry of Health to provide free cervical screening and aftercare consultations during the conference. It would also include a raffle draw, where two mothers would winning two plots of land, among other giveaways.
