The Inspiration Behind Attempting the Guinness World Record for the Longest Catwalk
The inspiration behind my attempt at the Guinness World Record stems from a desire to show people that they can break through limitations in the fashion industry. I wanted to demonstrate that regardless of stereotypes and challenges that exist within this field, it’s possible to achieve extraordinary things. My goal was to create a powerful example that could inspire others to push boundaries and redefine what’s possible in fashion. I also wanted to encourage people to dream big and take action toward making those dreams a reality.

Mental and Physical Preparation for the Challenge
Preparing for this intense challenge required a holistic approach that addressed both my physical and mental well-being. Physically, I had to overhaul my diet to ensure I was fueling my body for optimal performance. I committed to a rigorous training regimen, with morning and evening sessions that included a combination of cardio, strength training, and endurance exercises. Additionally, I incorporated a lot of walking into my daily routine to build my stamina.

Mentally, I relied on a strong support system to keep me motivated and focused. I was fortunate to have people around me who believed in my abilities and pushed me to give my best. My Pastor’s guidance and prayers were also a tremendous source of encouragement, providing me with the spiritual strength and resilience to persevere through the tough times.

Overcoming the Most Difficult Moment During the Walk
The most difficult moment during the walk was undoubtedly when my legs began to fail me on the second day. The physical strain took a toll, and I felt like giving up. But I knew I couldn’t let myself, my team, or the people who believed in me down. I had put in too much work to quit halfway.

I remembered the significant investment that had gone into the event, the expectations of those who were counting on me, and the energy of the cheering crowd. These thoughts gave me the mental boost I needed to push through the pain and exhaustion. I drew on my inner reserves of strength, grit, and determination, and I made a conscious decision to keep moving forward. It wasn’t easy, but I kept my eyes on the finish line and reminded myself that every step forward was a step closer to achieving my goal.

The Feeling of Being a Guinness World Record Holder
Holding a Guinness World Record is an indescribable feeling. It’s a mix of great pride, amazement, and a sense of accomplishment. Just a few months ago, my team and I were pouring our hearts and souls into planning and preparation, and to see it all pay off is truly overwhelming.
Achieving this record is a dream come true, and I still find it hard to believe. But I hope my story serves as an inspiration to others, especially those who may feel like their dreams are impossible. I want to encourage everyone to chase their passions, push beyond their limits, and strive to achieve greatness. If I can do it, anyone can.

A Message to Aspiring Models Facing Industry Barriers
To aspiring models facing industry barriers, I say: don’t give up. My Guinness World Record journey taught me that determination, hard work, and resilience can overcome any obstacle. Don’t let rejection or self-doubt define you. Surround yourself with believers, take risks, and stay true to yourself. Every ‘no’ brings you closer to the ‘yes’ that will change your life. Keep pushing forward and believe in your potential.

Beyond Modeling: Other Career Goals and Passions
Beyond my accomplishments in the realm of Guinness World Records, I’m passionate about exploring other fields, particularly project management. I am fascinated by the meticulous planning, coordination, and execution that go into overseeing projects from conception to completion.

Ultimately, my goal is to become a certified project manager, where I can apply my skills to drive successful projects and make a meaningful impact in various industries. I believe my ability to strategize, organize, and execute ambitious ideas will help me excel in this field.

The Role of Family and Friends in My Journey
My family and friends played a pivotal role in my journey. Their unwavering support, encouragement, and prayers gave me the strength to persevere through the toughest moments. The collective energy of my loved ones helped me push beyond my limits and achieve my goal of setting a Guinness World Record. Without them, this achievement would not have been possible.

The Future of the Nigerian Fashion Industry
I envision the Nigerian fashion industry evolving into a more inclusive and diverse space, where everyone has an equal opportunity to thrive. My hope is to see an industry free from stereotypes, where individuals of all sizes, heights, and skin tones can feel seen, appreciated, and accepted.

I’d love to see more representation of diverse models, designers, and creatives on runways, editorials, and advertising campaigns. It’s essential that we celebrate our unique African beauty standards and promote body positivity, self-love, and self-acceptance.

Advice for Young Women Chasing Big Dreams
To young women chasing big dreams, I’d say: believe in yourself, even when no one else does. Your dreams are valid, and your uniqueness is your strength. Don’t let anyone define your potential or dictate your path. Stay focused, work hard, and trust that your resilience and determination will carry you through to achieving greatness.

What’s Next After This Achievement?
Following this incredible achievement, I’m eager to take on new challenges. My next ambition is to compete in the prestigious Miss World Nigeria pageant. I’m excited to leverage the skills, confidence, and resilience I’ve developed through my Guinness World Record journey to make a meaningful impact in this new endeavor. Additionally, I plan to expand my Dare to Dream initiative to inspire and empower even more young people.

What Makes Ololade a Woman of Rubies?
Ololade is a Woman of Rubies because she shines brightly with her remarkable achievements, inner strength, and passion for empowering others. Her Guinness World Record, resilience in overcoming challenges, and commitment to promoting inclusivity and African beauty standards make her a precious gem.

Three Women Who Inspire Ololade
Permit me to mention more than three—Kiekie, Aunty Funke Akindele, Queen Mother (Iyabo Ojo), my beautiful mother, and myself. I look forward to meeting these amazing women very soon.

How Childhood Shaped My Path
Growing up, I loved beauty pageants and fashion. My mother and I would predict pageant winners before the official announcements, and we were often right. I never owned flat shoes. I was obsessed with heels and practiced walking in them elegantly. People said I was doing too much, but I always knew what I wanted.

I also loved styling my friends and coursemates, even though I studied science. Watching the Guinness World Records show, especially Kaffy’s longest dance marathon, left a lasting impression on me. These experiences shaped my passion for fashion and achieving the extraordinary.
