To celebrate women who are breaking barriers and building bridges across industries, cultures, and continents, the She Global Awards, has honoured outstanding women in Nigeria and across the globe.

The event held at the Protea Hotel, Ikeja, tagged ‘The Lipstick Force’, seek to illuminate the exceptional contributions of women and elevate the essence of the lipstick force.

The awards categories include: Achievers Category, Corporate Ladies in Business, Top Ladies in Business, Young Female and the ‘He for She’ category, where men that have been very supportive of women, were also recognised.

Speaking at the event, founder, Ladies in Business Magazine Global and organiser of the awards, Helen Adeshola Onadipe, said the platform is a movement, a celebration of excellence, an attribute to the power, a global passion, and the purpose of women around the world.

“The theme is boldly declared, that the strength of a woman is not silence, it is vibrant, resilient, and revolutionary and that lipstick force represents every woman who raises the glass, leads with courage, and lifts others as she climbs.

“It is a symbol of unapologetical strength, unwavering confidence, and unstoppable action. This award celebrates true success of real women with genuine growth and counts on the strong personality and performance of individuals who stand a chance to go global.”

President and Group Chairman, M&C Group Global, Ghana, Michael Bartlett Vanderpuye, urged the women to network, collaborate and shun infighting, saying with more cooperation they will continue to grow. “It’s not just about the award or recognition, it’s the networking. And networking is not just going for events. You network everywhere you go. Anywhere I go, I make sure I pick five business partners and I keep them,” he said.

Vice President, International Businessperson and Diplomats Union, Turkey, Nalan Ozkan, said the Africa women’s forum is not just a gathering, but a platform that amplifies the voice of the continent, makes women’s presence visible and proves that change is possible.

She said: “For centuries, women have been the bearers of societies, the protectors of cultures and the greatest agents of change. Yet we know that many women still do not have equal opportunities and face barriers to education, health, employment and participation in decision-making mechanisms. We are in this forum not only to identify these problems – but to find solutions, to be inspired by each other and to join hands to build a more equitable future.”

Ozkan called on African women, particularly leading businesswomen, to support the development of Africa through trade cooperation, sustainable economic growth and development.
