Speakers at women with stories conference bare it all

Last weekend will be recorded in history as significantly life-altering for participants of The Women With Stories Global Conference, which held at the Landmark Towers, Victoria Island. This remarkable three-day event convened by the Chief Storyteller at the Women With Stories International, Naomi Osemedua, aimed to provide a safe platform for women to share their stories and give hope and inspiration to others, as they are equipped with different tools for their healing and fulfillment.

An array of women from different walks of life and from across the globe gathered at the venue while some joined via live stream to participate, with the theme: ‘Your Story is Your Gift’. The air was saturated with feminine warmth, excitement and grace, as strangers became acquaintances. The speakers comprised influential women from different parts of Nigeria, Zambia and the USA. They include Lepacious Bose, Winnie Mabena, Tewa Onasanya, Tale Alimi, Omolara Adagunodo, Mfon Ekpo, Robyn Robbins, Desiree Lee, ARA and Cecilia Agu. Joyce Daniels, the Queen of Talk, was the official compere and was ably supported by Presh Talker.
 
Lepacious Bose shared her own weight-loss journey with so much insight until she decided to take charge of her life and fight. Ara, the first female talking drummer shared her journey to stardom, with all the challenges, struggle and shame she had to deal with. Picking herself back up again and determined to win through it all.

Managing Director Jumia Travel, Omolara Adagunodo, also shared her personal journey and the determination to keep going strong throughout the process. Winnie Mabena, founder of the Knowledge Effect, Zambia is living positively with HIV and she inspired courage in the audience, sharing how she rose above stigmatization and suicidal thoughts to being in the forefront of educational advocacy in Zambia today.

Tewa Onasanya, a mindset stylist, publisher of Exquisite Magazine and organiser of Exquisite Ladies of the Year (ELOY) Awards, taught women how to use their minds to overcome life’s many challenges.  Cecilia Agu, founder Bedroom Matters shared her journey from being raped at seven, struggling with intimacy in marriage and now after overcoming her personal struggles now helps women find and enjoy intimacy in their marriages. 

Desiree Lee, Author, Founder of Authors In Business and Lifestyle Entrepreneur at AIB Nation, taught on the relevance of our individual struggles and how our stories can be converted to raw cash. While Robyn Robbins of Book Midwife, Founder of Heart of A D.I.V.A. Ministries and CEO of Robyn Robbins Enterprises, shared her unique formula for overcoming writers block and writing your book in the shortest time desirable. She dismantled the entire writing process so expertly that no one was left in doubt on how to create bestsellers from their personal journey.
