A cosmetic firm, Zaron has pledged its committment in addressing skincare needs for African women under varying climatic condition.

Founder, Zaron Cosmetics, Oke Maduewesi gave this pledge at the pre-launch of a new Skin by Zaron Vitamin C skincare range, emphasizing its unique formulation tailored for women of colour and its suitability for all skin types.

Maduewesi explained that the Vitamin C range, comprising a body lotion, body wash, face cream and serum was designed to promote radiant and healthy skin while avoiding harmful lightening effects.

“There’s been a rave about Vitamin C, and we looked at it, formulated, and created products just for our people, our skin colour, and for everybody male, female, something that radiates and makes your skin glow,” she said.

Addressing concerns about global formulations for African climates, the Zaron founder stressed the importance of creating products suited for the African environment.

“When products are developed abroad, they are not tested under our harsh sun and conditions,” she stated, noting that Skin by Zaron was uniquely formulated to cater to African skin types and tones.

Maduewesi also underscored the brand’s ethical focus on quality and integrity, describing Zaron as a trusted African brand with global reach.

“We pride ourselves on brand reputation and affordability while ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards,” she said. While manufacturing is currently outsourced, she assured that plans to incorporate local ingredients in the future are underway.
To ensure proper product use, Zaron Cosmetics has implemented a distribution model with intensive training for distributors and collaborations with aestheticians.

“The goal is not just for people to buy but to use our products correctly and see the benefits,” Maduewesi explained.

Highlighting the innovation behind the range, Team Lead, Skin by Zaron, Lagos, Precious Osara, added that all products are infused with complementary ingredients like collagen, niacinamide, castor oil, and ferulic acid to address concerns such as hyperpigmentation, dryness, and anti-aging. She clarified that the formulations focus on brightening rather than lightening the skin, reassuring users that none of the products contain steroids or harmful bleaching agents. “We are selling healthy skin to make you happier,” she emphasized.
