In celebration of its ninth anniversary, SoMe Solutions, a leading PR communications agency has unveiled The Unicorn Project, a ₦20 million initiative designed to discover, fund, and scale Nigeria’s next iconic women-led brand.
The Unicorn Project was created in response to the ongoing funding gap faced by female entrepreneurs in Nigeria, where less than 2 percent of venture capital is allocated to women-led businesses. Through this project, SoMe Solutions is setting out to change the narrative by offering strategic resources that go far beyond capital.
One standout entrepreneur will receive ₦500,000 in cash and a brand transformation package valued at ₦20 million. This includes business strategy, mentorship, influencer partnerships, media amplification, and visibility to scale across Africa. In total, three women-led businesses will benefit from the project.
Founder of SoMe Solutions, Elizabeth Osho said, “This isn’t just funding, it’s a growth engine designed to transform potential into a household name. We’ve seen countless brilliant women struggle to scale not because of lack of talent or innovation, but because they didn’t have the tools or network. That’s what we’re offering.”
The Unicorn Project is open to women entrepreneurs across Nigeria. After a national call for applications, 20 finalists will be shortlisted based on brand potential and market-readiness. From there, five entrepreneurs will pitch in a public showcase, where three winners will be selected through a combination of public voting and expert evaluation.
The grand prize winner, crowned The Unicorn, will receive ₦500,000 in cash and a ₦20 million brand growth package. Second place will be awarded ₦350,000 and strategic business support, while third place will receive ₦250,000 and access to expert mentorship.
According to CEO of Premia Business Network and convener of the project, Bola Lawal, “A great product needs more than just a voice, it needs a powerful network, access to capital, and guidance on how to grow strategically. That’s what we’re creating here.”
With this initiative, SoMe Solutions aims to empower three women-led businesses to scale across Africa, inspire over 10,000 female entrepreneurs nationwide, and significantly increase the visibility and representation of women in the business ecosystem. Applications are now open. Interested entrepreneurs can apply by following @somesolutions on Instagram and TikTok or visiting www.somesolutionsco.com.
