Women have been reminded of their uniqueness and special calling, above all their influence on their wards. Wife of the General Overseer, Holy Spirit Mission and the Convener, ‘When mama prays’, Rev. Carol Ighele gave this charge at its international conference held in the church’s headquarters in Lagos. She emphasied the need for women to realise that their role as mothers is pivotal to the growth and development of not just the nation but also peace in the world. Rev. Ighele urged mothers to recognise the profound influence they have on shaping the nation’s future through the values and principles they instill in their children. She pointed out that the actions and decisions of mothers do not only affect their children but also have far-reaching consequences that can influence future generations.

According to her, the discipline, environment, and values provided by mothers are crucial in determining the trajectory of the nation’s growth. “As women, we are entrusted with a generational assignment that goes beyond our immediate families. The way we raise our children today will impact not just their lives but the lives of future generations. This is the reason it is essential to seek divine grace in fulfilling our roles, ensuring that we pass on values of righteousness, holiness, and integrity.” she said.
Ighele reiterated that in today’s Nigeria, where citizens are faced with numerous challenges, including rising insecurity and moral decay, the role of mothers becomes even more critical which compels women to be more vigilant in their spiritual lives and ensure that the devil does not gain a foothold in their families. She added that the future of Nigeria depends largely on the core values mothers instill in their children.
