Kaduna State chairmanship aspirant for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Danjuma Bello Sarki, has vowed to block and burst the alleged rigging formula of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), in the 2027 gubernatorial election in the state.

Speaking to journalists on Sunday, shortly after meeting with the youth wing of PDP in the state as part of his campaign flag-off, Sarki vowed to stop incumbent Governor Uba Sani from returning to office if elected in the forthcoming chairmanship election in the State.

The former PDP youth leader in Kaduna State said his aspiration was the choice of the people and party members, adding that he would not disappoint them if voted to lead the party in the state.

Sarki said the era of PDP members defecting to the ruling party and other parties would be over if elected, adding that he plans to embark on uniting members and building confidence among them to work for the party holistically.

The chairmanship aspirant promised to lead a credible opposition that would hold the government accountable by exposing its ineptitude and showing the world where they are failing.

“I want to assure the party’s members that my chairmanship will bring about unity and a breath of fresh ideas that will block all loopholes for rigging by other political parties.

“When I win the chairmanship position, nobody will be able to rig us out the way they did in 2019 and 2023. I am ready to lead the battle come 2027 when I become chairman of the PDP. I want to say that it hurts to see some of our leaders and members defecting to APC.

“And that is one of the things I am coming to correct because I am a unifier. One of the reasons they left the party was due to a lack of unity. I will be able to lead and unify the party so that all aggrieved members will be reconciled once I’m elected.

“We will harmonise whatever interests we have so that the party will be the winner of all parties. I am a bridge builder, between the old and the young members, between the north and the south as well as the central zones of the State. I will build confidence in all members for them to realise that the party is above individual interests so that we can work together and achieve our goals.

“We’ll provide an alternative opportunity for people to see that the PDP remains the best party that has the mind of the people of Kaduna State and Nigeria.

“The PDP is a democratic party that encourages youths to be active, hence my decision to join the race after due consultation.

“PDP and people of Kaduna State will not be disappointed if elected into office. I will lead them to their polling units, wards, and local government areas and mobilise people en masse to cast their votes for the governorship candidate and up to the National Assembly candidates as well as the presidential candidate,” Sarki stressed.
