EU-RoLAC partners Kano to combat corruption
The Kano State Government has unveiled its Anti-Corruption Strategy (2024-2028), a comprehensive framework aimed at combating corruption and promoting integrity across the state.
The launch, supported by the European Union-funded Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC) Programme Phase II, coincided with the 2024 International Anti-Corruption Day, themed “Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity.”
Governor Abba Yusuf stressed the need to tackle corruption, describing it as “a cancer that erodes trust, undermines institutions, and hampers progress.”
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting human rights and ensuring accountability.
Also speaking, RoLAC state coordinator, Ibrahim Bello stated that the European Union and International IDEA remain committed to supporting anti-corruption reforms in Nigeria.
“The governor is a formidable partner in fighting corruption in the state. He has demonstrated his commitment by working with development partners to ensure a corruption-free state.”
The launch event featured debates, sensitisation campaigns, and stakeholder discussions, highlighting the importance of collaboration among anti-corruption agencies, civil society, media, and the private sector.
