A new permanent secretary has been assigned to the Federal Ministry of Interior. She is Dr. Magdalene Ajani.

Ajani is taking over from Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, who has been redeployed.

A statement by the Director, Press and Public Relations Department of the ministry, Ozoya Imohimi, stated that Ajani has since officially assumed her responsibilities at a ceremony yesterday in Abuja.

Dr. Ajani was quoted saying, “Indeed, we are colleagues, and as a united team, we must build upon the foundation laid by my predecessor. I envision a situation where, in six months, Dr. Ndayako will look back and see that we are collectively advancing the vision she shared with you. I am eager to engage with all departmental directors and agencies in the coming days and weeks. We will initiate our work immediately, with briefings commencing tomorrow.”

On her part, the outgoing permanent secretary expressed confidence in the ability of her successor to build on her achievements.
