In a bid to enhance research impact and improve academic writing skills, Multidisciplinary Research Initiative, MRI, will be holding a free virtual workshop, titled, ‘Writing High-Impact Academic Papers: From Conceptualization to Publication’.

Founder of the initiative, Prof. Godwin Emmanuel Oyedokun, said the gesture was part of MRI’s corporate social responsibilities, targeted at academics, researchers, and postgraduate students across disciplines to hone their research communication skills.

Oyedokun stressed the importance of impactful research, noting that it is beyond publishing papers, but about making a meaningful contribution to society.

“Many researchers struggle to translate their valuable work into impactful publications. This workshop aims to bridge that gap by equipping participants with the skills to write compelling papers that resonate with a wider audience and contribute significantly to their fields,”he said.

He added that the workshop taking place via Zoom on December 31,2024, will cover key topics ranging from understanding research impact, writing for impact, dissemination strategies, and building a strong academic reputation.

He said, “This workshop will provide participants with the tools and strategies to write high-quality academic papers that can drive real change. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in interactive lectures, group discussions, and practical exercises.

“The goal of this workshop is to empower researchers to maximize the impact of their work. By providing a supportive and interactive learning environment, we hope to inspire participants to produce high-quality research that can make a real difference.”

Oyedokun also encouraged interested ones to register on https://forms.gle/LrzfMBourrNFH9qE6 by December 30.
