Show of force will ensure peace, security in Kogi – Police commissioner
The Kogi State Police Commissioner, Miller Dantawaye, has stated that the show of force by the Nigeria Police Force alongside sister security agencies in Lokoja, the state capital, is a proactive measure to guarantee peace and security across the state to commemorate National Police Week.
The state’s Police spokesperson, William Ovye, said that CP Dantawaye made the statement on Wednesday.
Dantawaye said, “In a demonstration of strength, unity, and collaboration, the Kogi State Police Command, in conjunction with other
Security Agencies, organized a Show of Force exercise in Lokoja as part of activities commemorating the National Police Week.
“The exercise, which took place across strategic locations in Lokoja, was aimed at strengthening synergy among Security Agencies in the State, reassuring the public of their safety, and deterring criminal activities within the State.
“Participating agencies include the 12 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Lokoja, Nigerian Navy Ship Lugard, NSS, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigerian Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs Service, NDLEA.
“The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration in maintaining law and order. He reiterates the unwavering commitment of all security agencies to safeguarding lives and property in the State.”
Dantawaye explained that the show of force is a measure aimed at instilling confidence in the members of the public, especially in Kogi State, and he emphasized the issue of professionalism and discipline among the participating security agencies.
He said, “The Show of Force serves as a proactive measure to ensure peace and security while also fostering confidence among residents and visitors in Kogi State. The exercise concluded without any incident, reflecting the professionalism and discipline of the participating agencies.
“The Kogi State Police Command reassures the public of its unwavering dedication to maintaining security and urges citizens to remain law-abiding while supporting law enforcement efforts in the state.”
