Journalists call for release of colleagues kidnapped in Kaduna

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) National Officer Dele Atunbi led Journalists to visit the families of the two Kidnapped members of the Union in Kaduna, on Friday and joined in prayers for their release by the terrorists.

The Dele Atunbi for NUJ President Consultation Team who visited the families of the two journalists at their residences in the Danhono area of Millennium City in Kaduna metropolis also led the prayer session by journalists for the release of the victims.

While at the residences of the families of the victims, Atunbi, an NUJ presidential aspirant, prayed for God’s intervention in facilitating the safe and quick return “of our dear colleagues”.

He also urged all NUJ members across the country to join in praying for the quick and safe return of the two journalists – the Correspondents of the Nation Newspaper, Abdulgafar Alabelewe and Abdul Aoudu of the Blueprint Newspaper – who were abducted by bandits, last Saturday.

Atunbi also showed solidarity with the leadership and NUJ Kaduna State Council members in this trying period.

He called on governments at all levels to ensure the safety of Nigerians wherever they live or work in all parts of the country.
