Kogi governor swears in 10 judges

Governor Usman Ododo on Wednesday swore in 10 new judges in a ceremony which took place at the Muhammadu Buhari square in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

The newly-appointed judges were part of the 86 judicial officers recommended for promotion by the National Judicial Council (NJC).

Ododo while swearing in the new judges admonished them to serve the people of Kogi with “integrity, fairness, and unwavering dedication to the tenets of the judiciary”.

The Kogi State governor also advised the new judges to always ensure that they treat everyone equally to guarantee a peaceful society.

According to Ododoz the judiciary is the last hope of the common man, therefore, the judges owe the society an obligation to be just and fair.

“A just and fair society is where everybody is treated equally regardless of class, religion and ethnicity,” Ododo said.

“Therefore, you must be reminded and be guided by the oaths you have just taken.”
