Change, they say, is constant, and for Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 9 tagged “No Loose Guard,” it’s a change that comes with the treatment of kings and queens.

From the entrance of the house, where the contestants will play their tricks to go home with the N100 million prize, to the diary room, the arena, housemates’ living rooms, and the head of house residence, everything is putting on a new look befitting for a king.

The housemates are paired in two rooms, the first designed with yellow and the second with wine, which gives a secondary colour of orange.

The arena floor is made of black asphalt from tires, while a gym is also added this year. The house is equipped with table tennis and snooker for the contestants to test their might.

The kitchen is equipped with the latest utensils, and the pool has been redesigned for the housemates.

Executive Head, Content and Channels, West Africa at MultiChoice, Dr. Busola Tejumola, told The Guardian that the show is committed to delivering unparalleled entertainment.

He said, “Big Brother has gone beyond the realm of TV and has become a phenomenon. It is without a doubt the biggest reality TV show in Africa.

“Over the years, it has evolved into a platform that not only entertains but also generates conversations. We see all the conversations that go on on the streets of social media.”

For the show, media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu returns as the host for the eighth consecutive season. This year, contestants must enter the house in pairs. Unlike previous seasons, viewers will see the housemates introduced in pairs this season.

This year, not only will the housemates be competing for prizes, but the fans can also grab cash prizes. Viewers can participate by predicting the pairs they think will win the Immunity Challenge. Lucky fans can win N1 million weekly.

Since 2020, BBNaija has been giving out 30 million each year to fans that Lock In – you can either lock in the winner or the top three finale contestants – and in the last four years, they have given out about N120 million.

With the possibility of more giveaways to fans this year, the Executive Head of Marketing, Tope Oshunkeye, disclosed that the brand new MyDStv application will ensure that fans of the show stay ahead as the voting for the new season will take place on the application.

He added, “There’s a new MyDStv app. All the action around Big Brother, DStv self-service, being in control, and staying ahead will all be available on the brand-new application. Also, voting for Big Brother will take place there.”

This year is different as the organisers are not asking to lock in who is going to win but predict who will win the immunity challenge. Viewers can follow the housemates competing in pairs for the N100 million grand prize on DStv Channel 198 and GOtv Channel 49 for 71 days.
