Comedian Tiffany Haddish pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to two misdemeanor charges stemming from her November arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Haddish’s attorney, Andrew Reed, entered the plea during a brief arraignment hearing in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Haddish did not appear in court.

A pretrial hearing is scheduled for Feb. 14, 2024.

Haddish was arrested early on Nov. 24, 2023, after she was allegedly found asleep behind the wheel of her Tesla in Beverly Hills. Police said she was cited for driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or higher, the legal limit in California.

Haddish was released from jail later that day after posting bail.

She has denied the allegations and said she was “simply tired” after performing at a comedy club the night before her arrest.

“I understand the severity of the allegations against me and I take them very seriously,” Haddish said in a statement after her arrest. “I cooperated fully with the officers and I am confident that I will be vindicated.”

If convicted, Haddish could face up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $2,000. She could also lose her driver’s license.

Haddish’s DUI case is just the latest in a string of legal troubles for the comedian. She was arrested in January 2022 in Georgia on suspicion of DUI and improper stopping on a roadway. She has pleaded not guilty in that case, which is still pending.

Haddish is a successful actress and comedian who has starred in films such as “Girls Trip” and “Night School.” She also won a Grammy Award in 2021 for her comedy album, “Black Mamba.”

It is important to note that Haddish has pleaded not guilty, and the charges against her have not been proven in court. She is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Here are some additional details about the case:

•Haddish was arrested in the early hours of Nov. 24, 2023, near Beverly Drive and Dayton Way.
•She was released from jail later that day after posting $2,500 bail.
•A pretrial hearing is scheduled for Feb. 14, 2024.

If convicted, Haddish could face up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $2,000. She could also lose her driver’s license.
