Curtis J, a talented music artist, has been making waves in the industry since his debut in 2015. Inspired by influential artists like Banky W, Timaya, and Wizkid, Curtis J embarked on his musical journey right after finishing secondary school. In a recent Q&A session, he shared the story behind his inspiration, stating, “I remember 2010 I traveled to Nigeria and Wizkid’s ‘Superstar’ album was reigning then. I came back to the UK and all I wanted to do was make music like him.”
Curtis J’s dedication and passion for music are evident in his musical style. Influenced by his background as a Nigerian growing up in the UK, he has been exposed to a diverse range of musical genres. From UK Afrobeats to drill, trap, pop, R&B, and Afrobeat, Curtis J blends these influences to create his preferred sound. In his own words, “My music is heavily influenced by my background, and I just blend it all in to make my preferred sound.”

As an artist, Curtis J approaches the songwriting process with authenticity and relies on his intuition to guide him. He shared, “For me, music is literally what I feel and think at that point in time.
