Davido’s Hit Song “Unavailable” Certified Gold in France
Afrobeat singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has added another achievement to his musical journey. His hit song “Unavailable” has been certified Gold in France.
Released as part of Davido’s fourth studio album, “Timeless” which was released in March 2023, “Unavailable” became a hit globally, with artists like Rihanna calling it her favourite song. The song also blew up on TikTok with multiple dance challenges attached to it.
“Unavailable” features complementary vocals by South African singer Musa Keys and was co-produced by Ragee and Magicsticks.
It recently achieved Gold certification in France. To earn this prestigious recognition, the song had to meet specific criteria such as having an impressive 15 million streams in France.
The track also sold 100,000 units, demonstrating its huge commercial success.
“Unavailable” peaked at number 1 on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart for five weeks, showcasing its cross-cultural impact. It also reached number 3 on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.
One of Davido’s other songs that has gotten certified includes his 2017 hit song “Fall” which attained ‘Gold’ status in both the United States of America and Canada for selling over 500,000 units and 40,000 units, respectively.
Additionally, “Fall” has achieved 4X Platinum certification in the United States and Platinum certification in South Africa.
