A 21-year-old graduate of the University of Calabar Glory Tete Ephraim has emerged as the winner of the second edition of the Queen of Humanity Beauty Pageant in Calabar, Cross River State

In a keenly contested competition spearheaded by the wife of the Governor of Cross River State, Bishop Mrs. Eyoanwan Otu, Glory Ephraim defeated Deborah Eju Aki as the first runner-up, while Ritemiquin Effenji Odey claimed the second runner-up position, among 17 other contestants

The event, which showcased the talents, intelligence, and humanitarian ambitions of young women, took place in grand style Friday at the Calabar International Convention Centre CICC

Speaking shortly after being declared winner, Glory Ephraim expressed her gratitude and shared her aspirations. “This is a dream come true. I’m grateful to God, my family, and the organizers for this opportunity. I promise to use this platform to promote humanity and empower women across the state.”

First runner-up Deborah Eju Aki also shared her thoughts: “Being part of this competition has been an incredible journey. Congratulations to Ephraim, and I’m excited to support her vision as I continue my own humanitarian efforts.”

Second runner-up Ritemiquin Effenji Odey added, “I’m honoured to have made it this far. This platform has taught me so much, and I look forward to making an impact in my community.”

In her remark, the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, commended the contestants and the organizers. “Tonight, we celebrate not just beauty, but intelligence, compassion, and the spirit of giving back to society. Ephraim and all the finalists have made us proud, and I urge you to continue being ambassadors of humanity. Congratulations to all!”

The annual Queen of Humanity pageant which is part of activities for the 32-day Christmas Festival aims to inspire young women to embrace leadership roles and contribute meaningfully to their communities. This year’s event reinforced its commitment to fostering empowerment and making a difference in society.
