How Prostate Enlargement Made Me Impotent – Veteral Nollywood Actor
Yoruba veteran actor, kola Oyewo, has revealed his hard times battling prostate enlargement, and how it rendered him sexually impotent. The actor revealed this to colleagues, Kunle Afod, and Peter Fatomilola.
“I had an enlarged prostate, but I feel better now. In 2019, I first noticed that I would easily pee on myself or find it difficult to urinate, I went to the hospital, and I was told that my prostate is getting larger, and I will undergo surgery.
“They made an incision on my stomach and inserted what will help me pass out urine to prevent me from dying immediately.” he shared.
“My doctor instructed me to go to his main hospital, where an attempt was made to insert something into my penis, but it was unsuccessful. I was then sent back home and advised to bid farewell to my family as I needed to undergo surgery. I informed my wife, who has been battling a stroke since 2017, about the operation.
The 77-year-old actor also disclosed how the surgeries led him to be sexually inactive, “Also, I was advised to undergo another surgery that will stop my sexual performance. I told them to go ahead because I no longer need it as my children were grownups with their kids,” he explained to his visitors.
Afterward, I was advised to undergo another X-ray at the teaching hospital, which nearly proved fatal. Had I known I would lose the ability to urinate normally through my penis, I would not have proceeded with the surgery. I feel improved and have even resumed work on movie sets, albeit avoiding strenuous tasks.” he concluded.
Oyewo has starred in films such as “The Gods are not to blame” Sango. He is currently a performing arts lecturer at Elizade University Ilara-Mokin in Ondo State.
