Peter Obi prays for new Nigeria
Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the 2023 Nigerian presidential election, has noted that he joins Nigerians in praying for a new Nigeria.
Obi made the statement via X, where he reflected on the Cross Over service he attended at the Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Glory Dome, Abuja, hosted by Dr. Paul Enenche and his wife, Becky.
“As we step into this new year, I join millions of Nigerians in praying for a New Nigeria—a nation where insecurity, hunger, poverty, and the absence of empathy are replaced with peace, prosperity, compassion, and good governance,” Obi stated.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to working tirelessly to ensure that critical sectors of the economy, such as education, thrive.
Obi’s post has sparked various reactions from netizens. While some criticised him for attending a Cross Over service and tweeting about it, others applauded him for praying for the well-being of the country.

A netizen wrote: “Tinubu was in Lagos, Atiku in Adamawa, Obi in Abuja instead of Anambra. Speaks a lot about this man’s integrity.”
Another user commented: “Please na, spend time with your wife.”
The most striking remark came from a citizen who wrote: “So, vigils are no longer for lazy people?”.
