Rising Star Emem drops debut EP ‘A Star Now’
Nigerian Afrobeats rising star, Emem Major Atat, known as Emaem, has released his debut EP, A Star Now.
The four-track project features production by Ebuka Asuzu and was mixed and mastered by Oceansbeatz.
The EP’s lead single, Italawa, serves as a triumphant anthem, showcasing Emaem’s confidence and determination to leave a lasting mark on the music scene.

Other tracks on the EP include True To You, a soulful romantic ballad celebrating love and loyalty; Sunglasses, an introspective piece that delves into Emaem’s personal reflections and struggles; and Many Things, an energetic anthem addressing life’s realities and how people’s perceptions shift based on circumstances.
Speaking about the EP, Emaem described it as his personal manifesto.
He said, “A Star Now is about embracing who I am, staying authentic, and believing in my journey, no matter the challenges. I hope this project inspires others to own their truth and shine unapologetically.”
Emaem who is from Uyo in Akwa Ibom State, began his musical journey as a secondary school rapper before releasing his first single in 2016 under the name Majorboyy.
