Popular media personality, Toke Makinwa like many other Nigerians has reacted to the poor treatment of corps members by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The best-selling author took to her Instagram page to express not only her disgust at the postponement of the general elections but she also shared an image of corps members who were forced to sleep under deplorable conditions, calling it a big shame.

Makinwa further went on to refer to the postponement of the 2019 general elections a national embarrassment.

She shared,

“If this picture of youth corpers sleeping outside is real then it’s a big shame. I am disgusted at the blatant disregard, you wait till 2am to announce the postponement of the elections???? Why??? People have travelled far and wide to their various polling units and you do this???? Which way Nigeria???? Why do we love to embarrass ourselves so much? The whole world is watching and we do this???? I am so confused.

Just when you think it can’t get any worse, you think they can’t shock you anymore. Just when you are so sure, they outdo themselves. We must not give up, we must stay prayed up and vigilant this week. Come 23rd we decide.”

It would be recalled that Makinwa was one of the prominent Nigerians who lamented the decisions of presidential candidates, Atiku Abubakar and Muhammadu Buhari not to show up for the 2019 presidential debate. According to her, Atiku should have shown up for Nigerians and he could have just focused and sold his agenda to Nigerians and not get himself bothered about other candidates that refused to show up.
