Twitter Reactions To Presidential Aspirant Eunice Atuejide’s Tweet
Ever since Presidential candidate Eunice Atuejide posted on her social media platforms that she is not a feminist, the internet has been blowing up with reactions to her posts, most especially on Twitter.

Take a look at her posts:
I understand that my marital status and multiple trips to the labour room is much more important to many of us than my educational and professional qualifications.
Well my dearest people, here is my improved profile…😉#ANigeria4All pic.twitter.com/jefuXfOpR6

Again, I’m not a feminist!
I actually hate it when people call me feminist because that word means too many things, many of which I DON’T LIKE!
EVERYONE should have a fair chance.
Be yourself and be treated right being yourself
So guys, lets caption this picture!#ANigeria4All pic.twitter.com/JPJkebOU3W— Eunice Atuejide (@eunice_atuejide) August 1, 2018
To me, we need contributions & views from all sides (masculine & feminine) in designing the future Nigeria.
It’s neither a man’s world, nor a woman’s world.
It is our world.
We all matter!
We all have a lot to offer, and equal weight must be given to our views.#ANigeria4All pic.twitter.com/hjBXdfqi7J— Eunice Atuejide (@eunice_atuejide) August 1, 2018
Does the caption “Agreement of ALL 2019 Progressive/Young/Independent Presidential Aspirants to work TOGETHER” work for you?
It doesn’t for me simply because the ENTIRE female specie was EXCLUDED!
So guys, help me find the perfect caption….🤷🏾♀️#ANigeria4All pic.twitter.com/um18kwGiuj— Eunice Atuejide (@eunice_atuejide) August 1, 2018
I’M NOT A FEMINIST!
Na by force?
And who is a feminist?
My friend who won’t cook for her husband & kids cos of equality?
The one who always insults men bcos she can? Ladies who won’t let men hold doors for them cos it diminishes their value? What does feminism mean?#ANigeria4All— Eunice Atuejide (@eunice_atuejide) August 1, 2018
And, of course, Nigerians took to Twitter to share their opinions and views on what she tweeted.
Some took to correcting the presidential aspirant on her views, showing her the true definition of feminism. Others called her out outrightly.
Madam Presidential Aspirant, check the definition. Everytime u tweet; “I’m not a feminist” u are insinuating you don’t believe in women’s right & you don’t believe in equality of the sexes. That’s like someone saying I’ll spread the message of Jesus but never call me a Christian. pic.twitter.com/srqVPWIIcw

Your tweet is representative of uniformed beliefs about feminism that have failed women in the past and continues to fail us today. Use your platform wisely to educate, and avoid contributing to the very harmful rhetoric that can further marginalize women.

A Nigeria for all? That sounds like Equality yet, you are not a Feminist.
Do you even understand the words you type??
You are confused madam.— Tash (@chayiltasha) August 1, 2018
As opposed saying you are not a feminist and disrespecting the guts of those who are..you an actually choose to educate what true feminism is and how empowered women can change the world.

That’s why I won’t want you as president.
Why are you even angry? You’ve visited several countries yet you don’t know what equal right is and you want to lead us but you are against the concept of feminism which should benefit you and re-educate men.Now you are angry ha pic.twitter.com/ob6jaOUzIi

Precisely!
What does feminism mean?
Because a lot of what my fellow women say and do under the term feminism make me want to puke!— Eunice Atuejide (@eunice_atuejide) August 1, 2018
At this point im no longer going to debate your preferred stance seeing as you have decided not to educate yourself on the matter. But ma’am, the way you construct your sentences is not at all befit for someone trying to lead a country. “Make me want to puke” Really?!! Do better

Yen yen yen… I’m not a feminist but everyone should get a fair chance.
If you don’t know the meaning of feminism and won’t research it how can we entrust a country to you? https://t.co/8uXkz0omAE

Personally Eunice, you need to drop this. And this is coming from an admirer. When three female presidential aspirants met recently to “work together”, no one read meaning into it or questioned the intent of d summit. Run on your record & competence and don’t play the gender card pic.twitter.com/4EKGN4BzF8

Lmao. If you cannot conduct a simple google search to educate yourself better you expect me to trust you to lead Nigeria? You are woefully ignorant. https://t.co/iwXFHwJzv0

The article has been edited to correct the impression that Eunice Atuejide is a candidate of the #NotToYoungToRun movement.
