National Environmental Standard and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), has inducted 108 newly accredited environmental consultants to carry out the latest modern science and technology and apply innovative solutions to the challenges facing the country.

Speaking at the occasion in Abuja, its Director General, Dr. Innocent Barikor, urged them to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment for all Nigerians through effective enforcement of sanitation regulations which will play crucial roles in advancing environmental protection and sustainability.

Barikor also stated that their activities in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of environmental impacts, will ensure compliance with environmental laws and standards, calling on them to be their eyes and ears to monitor, evaluate, and improve environmental practices across all sectors.

“Work towards contributing to safeguarding our natural resources, protecting public health, and promoting sustainable development. Today’s induction is a call to action and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and ethics,” he declared.

The DG also called for proactive steps in addressing challenges, collaborating with the Agency and other stakeholders in fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and sustainability and taking full advantage of the opportunities for continuous learning and development.

He stressed the importance of focusing on their target by sustaining climate change mitigation and adaptation and work hard to make a mark in ecosystem space, to share the goal of a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Nigeria.
