A non-profit organisation dedicated to addressing food insecurity, combating malnutrition, and fostering community development, the REACH Nigeria Foundation, has released its 2024 Impact Report.

The report highlights the foundation’s significant achievements in transforming the lives of vulnerable populations across Nigeria.
Speaking at the report presentation, the Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Benedicta Ayerite, said that despite facing logistical, resource, and economic challenges, they successfully supported over 12,000 beneficiaries.

She said that the foundation also distributed 1,500 food packs and impacted eight underserved communities through targeted programs and initiatives.

Ayerite said that in 2024, the foundation’s “Feed the Street Programme” distributed 3,150 meals to individuals experiencing hunger and homelessness across Lagos and Port Harcourt, while the “Nurture & Nourish Programme” also made significant strides in combating malnutrition in rural communities.

She added that the program educated over 200 mothers on affordable, nutritious meal preparation, benefiting over 300 children, and noted that the foundation partnered with global artist Damini Ogulu, AKA Burna Boy, and his Spaceship Collective to renovate the Cheshire Home, improving living conditions for disabled residents.

She said: “Our Christmas Joy Campaign delivered holiday cheer to 600 families, ensuring they had food, gifts, and essential supplies to celebrate Christmas with dignity.

“Also, over 200 volunteers contributed 3,000 hours to program implementation and community outreach, demonstrating the foundation’s commitment to community engagement.”

The foundation reported that it raised over N40,000,000 via donations, sponsorships, and fundraising campaigns in 2024.
Additionally, beneficiaries of the programmes, including Ms. Betty, a resident of the Cheshire Home, said: “We, the residents of Port Harcourt Cheshire Home, sincerely thank you for all your support. May God continue to bless the REACH Foundation and Burna Boy for remembering us.”

Meanwhile, despite its successes, the foundation also outlined the challenges it faced in 2024, including limited resources, volunteer turnover, and logistical constraints. However, it noted that through innovative strategies and partnerships, the foundation managed to overcome these hurdles and maximize its impact.

Ayerite added: “Looking ahead, the REACH Nigeria Foundation aims to host a milestone fundraising event marking its 5th anniversary, expand its donor and partner networks, enhance its storytelling and nonprofit marketing strategies, and launch a volunteer recruitment drive.

“Our vision for 2025 is ambitious but necessary,” said Benedicta Ayerite, CEO of REACH Nigeria Foundation. “With stronger partnerships, innovative strategies, and the unwavering commitment of our team and supporters, we aim to double our impact and transform even more lives.”
