N2027: Youth group denies collecting N30m to aid to Tinubu's re-election

The Forum of National Youth Leaders of All Political Parties in Nigeria (FNLYLPPN) says there is no iota of truth in the allegation that they shared N30 million to endorse President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

The Forum’s co-chairman, Hon. Chinazam Ike, in a statement on Wednesday, described the allegation as unfounded and entirely untrue.

The group maintained that having existed for 15 years, witnessed transitions between successive governments, and still remained a potent and impactful platform without any previous allegations of compromise, it is easy for any objective mind to see that these claims are mere fabrications of the imagination of their originators.

Ike, who is of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), wondered why the African Action Congress (AAC) would point such accusing fingers at the FNLYLPPN, an advocacy platform that provides policy advisory to all youth development entities.

The statement, also signed by Eze Chukwu Onyebuchi of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA NYL), stated that the AAC has a lot to explain to Nigerians regarding the sinister allegations it is making, as it seems to be part of a script orchestrated by a bigger political figure.

The Forum noted: “While we are aware that the AAC is suffering from near irreconcilable factionalization, among many other internal challenges, we advise them to redirect their energy towards putting their house in order and addressing the issue of impersonation between their warring camps rather than engaging in a transfer of aggression towards the FNLYLPPN with baseless accusations and fallacious submissions.”

The Forum thereby called on all well-meaning Nigerians to discountenance the allegations and slander aimed at maligning their reputation.

The Forum further admonished spirited citizens, organizations, and the general public to continue partnering with and supporting the Forum in the actualization of a transformative regime of youth inclusion in politics and governance.
