The queen in a statement by Director, Media and Strategy to HRM Ihenetu, Njoku MacDonald Obinna, described the monarch as a rare gem, a living legend, a good husband, a global peace ambassador, and father -figure to many.

“Eze-Ohazurume, you are a study in humility and disciplinary leadership as you have been at the front burner in championing the good cause of ndi Igbo by building bridges across all divides, especially, within the African continent.

“As he celebrate yet another beautiful year, let us therefore pray God Almighty to grant him longevity in good health and with the wisdom of King Solomon, as we roll the drums to celebrate one of the amazing gifts from God to humanity.

“May your throne last long, my beloved husband, Eze-igbo Ghana.Happy birthday, Eze Ohazurume of Ghana,” Ugoeze Ihenetu said.

Obinna, who covered from 2021 to 2024 Igbo New Yam Festival in the Republic of Ghana, also felicitate with the king.

He went down memory lane to talk about the greatness of the monarch saying “radiating royalty ascend the highly revered royal throne of Obi Igbo Ghana, Obi Eziokwu, as the first patriotic Igbo son unanimously coronated by ndi Igbo living in Ghana with expressed support of the Ghanaian Government.

Obinna said: “On the international scene, you were privileged to have worked with African heros and legends like the late South African President and freedom fighter, Nelson Mandela, the late Ghanaian President, Jerry John Rawlings, and late Prof. Chinua Achebe, among others, thus, making you one of the most exposed Igbo sons with deep knowledge about the Igbo cosmology and social anthropology.

“Your coronation as the Monarchy of Ezeigbo Ghana did not come to many people who know you back home as a surprise because to you, ‘Serving others is one of life’s most awesome privileges.’ Needless to say, service to God and humanity runs in your DNA.

“HRM, Eze Ihenetu is a development driven Igbo traditional ruler in the diaspora and patriotic Igbo son who had mastered the ropes and dynamics of boardroom business strategy, traditional leadership, and the need for institutional royalty and projecting Igbo rich cultural heritage in a good light.”
