Evangelist Allays Fears On Violence After 2023 Elections
THE Emeritus Archbishop and Dean, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Maxwell Anikwenwa has asked eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to enable them participate in the 2023 general elections.

Anikwenwa said this, yesterday, when the Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, Most Rev. Alexander Ibezim, dedicated Our Saviour’s Church, Awka, Anambra State.

The cleric said that every Nigerian should cast his or her vote, regardless of religious affiliations, warning that anyone that fails to vote should not complain if the outcome was not favourable to them.

“Every Nigerian, irrespective of religious beliefs, should register and collect his/her PVCs in order to carry out his/her civic responsibility.

“It is an important duty for every Nigerian citizen to vote during elections. Whoever that does not contribute to this important responsibility should not complain.

“Whether the outcome favours you or not, you have done your bit. You do not need to worry. But if you did not vote, you do not need to complain; it is as simple as that,” he said.

Earlier in his sermon titled, “Never give up”, Ibezim urged the congregation not to allow life challenges to hinder them from worshipping and rendering services to God.

“Do not allow your life challenges to stop you from worshipping Jesus, and do not complain whenever you are asked to do something in the church, because it is a privilege to work for God,” he added.

He commended the parishioners for their contributions towards the growth and expansion of the church, urging them not to relent, especially towards the proposed vicarage.

In an interview, the Chairman, Dedication Committee, Chief Chukwuemeka Orjiakor, charged the congregation to contribute towards the construction and completion of the vicarage.

Meanwhile, the Minister-in-Charge, Ekunola Davies Ministry International, Evangelist Ekunola Davies, has cautioned Nigerians against exercising fears over the general elections.

Addressing journalists during the “Fire Conference” for ministers, in Lagos, yesterday, he assured that no evil would befall the nation.

“Nigeria is God’s country. By implication, the troublers of this nation shall be troubled. After the elections, there would be calmness. We are also praying that the Lord revives the Nigerian system and economy,” he stated.

On Nigerians leaving the country in search of greener pastures, he said: “The earth and its fullness thereof belongs to God. Sons and daughters of God are free to move anywhere. We have other nationalities like Indians, Americans and Chinese in Nigeria. The world belongs to all of us.”

He disclosed that the church is holding its annual Genesis Team Annual Crusade on January 13, 2023, at Rehoboth Prayer Mountain, Ilaro Road, Ogun State.

With the theme: “And the Lord appeared unto him,” he revealed that The Ekunola Davies Ministry is the first indigenous ministry of the Celestial Church of Christ that focused on revival, teachings, and deliverance.

He added that it is a ministry that started in Oshodi, Lagos State in 2001 before relocating to its prayer mountain in Ilaro, Ogun State.
