Abuja airport: Travellers lament broken elevator at local wing
Travellers, yesterday, lamented that the only elevator to the boarding area of the local wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) had broken down for several days.
Consequently, physically challenged passengers are now forced to climb the manual staircase to access the boarding area to the chagrin of passengers.
A concerned traveller, who witnessed the sorry sight of a physically challenged person struggling to access the manual staircase, to board Air peace to Enugu, yesterday, told The Guardian that no official either from government or private aviation authorities could offer any explanation.
The traveller called on government to immediately ensure that the elevator is repaired to save citizens, especially the physically challenged and elderly citizens the hassle of taking the manual staircase.
But The Guardian learnt that the elevator was barricaded after it broke down a few days ago.
