Adu becomes President, Rotary Club of Lekki Golden
The Rotary Club of Lekki Golden has elected Ambassador Frank Osahon Adu, as its sixth president. The investiture ceremony took place recently in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The event was presided over by the District Governor, Rotary International, District 9112, Olufemi Adenekan. Also present at the event was the District Governor-elect, Lanre Adedoyin.
In his acceptance speech, Adu pledged to uphold the values of Rotary, which include service above self, fellowship, diversity, Integrity and leadership.
He promised to work tirelessly with a view to ensuring that the Rotary Club of Lekki Golden “remains a beacon of hope, a club known for kindness, and compassion in the community of its existence.”
Adenekan who told Adu that to whom much is given, much is expected, said he believed that the new President would live up to expectation by virtue of his pedigree. He admonished him to execute all the projects enshrined in the Rotary International seven areas of focus.
He said he would expect to Adu to inspire members of the club to contribute their quota to Rotary Foundation, District Education, Welfare and Endowment Fund (DEWEF) and ensure representation at the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA), noting that attention should also be given to membership development.
He expressed his desire to see a lot of members becoming Paul Haris Fellow through their contributions to Rotary Foundation.
Adu said: “ I can can’t be happier and more delighted to serve humanity and impact community service. I love to make the world a better place as one of Rotary’s presidents.”
