APC state chairmen pass vote of confidence on Buhari, Odigie-Oyegun

The Forum of State Chairmen of All Progressives Congress (APC) has passed a vote of confidence on Chief John Odigie-Oyegun-led National Working Committee (NWC).
In a communique signed by the 31 members of the forum led by Mr. Henry Ajomale, they canvassed an extension of the Odigie-Oyegun-led NWC by two more years in view of the challenges faced by the party.
The Forum, which also unanimously passed a vote of confidence on President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration for the numerous achievements recorded so far despite the challenges facing the country, urged Buhari to present himself for second tenure come 2019.
It noted that it behooves on all members of the party to give maximum support to Senator Bola Tinubu-led peace and reconciliation committee to achieve a sustainable peace in the party
The forum noted: “ In view of the short period between the time available for the proposed party congresses and INEC published timetable for conduct of party primaries and general elections, the forum resolved that the tenure of the present officers of the party at all levels be extended by two years to avert challenges in the party.
“In view of these reasons and the fact that the present constitution as amended in 2014 has not been fully tested in the short life of the party, the forum resolved that the proposed amendment of the party constitution be suspended.
Besides, the state chairmen extended heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the good people of Benue, Adamawa, Taraba, Zamfara, Yobe and Bomo states for the attacks on them by enemies of our dear country.
They urged security agencies to do more to ensure the rescue of the captives and curtail the activities of these criminals in our country.
