The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo State has described its immediate past Registrar, Dr. Woleola Ekundayo, as a complete administrator, who served as an uncommon mentor to emerging professionals.

While emphasising that Ekundayo’s five-year tenure was exceptional during a send-off, attended by principal officers, deans, heads of departments, and academic and non-academic staff, the management maintained that he left an indelible mark on the university.   He was praised for fostering growth, unity, and administrative excellence, particularly for his commitment to championing institutional progress.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adesegun Fatusi, Ekundayo’s role in advancing UNIMED’s vision, particularly his strategic insight during critical periods, was recognised.

His words: “Dr. Ekundayo is an authentic person with a balanced view of life whose connection with the people contributed immensely to the growth of the university.”

“He is a dependable colleague, whose wealth of experience as an administrator, was evident during his time as the university Registrar.” On his part, the ex-Registrar, who served from 2020 to January 5, 2025, expressed gratitude to the university community, his family, and colleagues, and advocated for continuity in leadership excellence.
