Aviation scholarship empowers future leaders
The Aviation Career Hunt Scholarship Programme, a groundbreaking initiative spearheaded by Captain Callistus Ifeanyi, Senior First Officer Atinuke Stanley-Pepple (Captain _TK), and Dr. Oludayo Taiwo Gideon, successfully concluded its inaugural event on February 14, 2025 (Valentine’s Day), gifting young aviation enthusiasts the opportunity to chase their dreams in the aviation industry.
Captain Callistus, a seasoned pilot at Air Peace, SFO Atinuke, a Senior First Officer at Air Peace, and Dr. Oludayo, the CEO of Aeroport College of Aviation, aim to empower aspiring aviation professionals by transforming their dreams into tangible career opportunities within the industry.
Kicking off on January 8, 2025, the program attracted over 300 enthusiastic participants eager to embark on their aviation journeys. Following a rigorous selection process, 109 candidates advanced to the second stage, with 42 moving on to the third stage, ultimately leading to 15 finalists.
The final stage, held at the esteemed Aeroport College of Aviation, featured 11 of the 15 finalists, who delivered presentations showcasing their knowledge of aviation and responded to challenging questions pertaining to the industry and its various sectors. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the finalists demonstrated their passion and commitment to their chosen fields.
The event culminated in a highly competitive awards ceremony, where Akintayo Gabriel emerged victorious, securing first place and a scholarship for Aviation Management with Helicopter Landing. Agiamah Emmanuel followed closely in second place, earning a scholarship in Cabin Crew. Additional scholarships were awarded to other participants across a range of aviation-related disciplines, highlighting the diverse career paths available in the industry.
