Bauchi governor replaces SSG, PPS
Governor Bala Mohammed has replaced Barr. Kashim Ibrahim with Aminu Hammayo as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) after the former was directed to tender his resignation over an undisclosed issue.
Mohammed has also replaced his former Principal Private Secretary (PPS), Samaila Burga, who resigned to become the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman in the state. Burga’s replacement, Hashimu Kumbala, was named alongside Hammayo on Friday morning in a statement by Mukhtar Gidado, media aide to the Governor.
The statement said, “Hammayo is a seasoned administrator and public servant who has served Bauchi State with distinction in various capacities, earning a reputation for excellence, diligence, and unwavering dedication to public service.
“He was a one-time SSG and, until his new appointment, he was the Commissioner for Budget Planning and Multilateral Coordination.”
Gidado added that Kumbala, an experienced administrator, would serve as the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor.
“In this capacity, he will provide critical administrative and advisory support to the Governor, ensuring effective communication and coordination within the government.
“He was a retired permanent secretary, and until his new appointment, he was the Special Adviser to the Governor on General Service.”
Both Hammayo and Kumbala are set to be sworn in today.
