Benue State Government has approved the recruitment of 2,000 teaching and non-teaching staff to fill existing vacancies in its five tertiary institutions.
The Commissioner for Information, Mrs. Ngunan Adingi, disclosed this yesterday while briefing newsmen after the State Executive Council meeting in Makurdi.
Colleges of Education, Katsina-Ala and Oju; Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo; Akawe Torkula Polytechnic, Makurdi; and Akperan Orshi Polytechnic, Yandev are to benefit from the recruitment.
Adingi stated that already a committee headed by the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Dennis Ityavyar, had been set up to handle the process.
She also said the executive council had approved the procurement of fertiliser for the 2021 cropping season, noting that contractors not yet paid for past supplies would be paid without delay.
