Binance executive Tigran Gambaryann in court

A Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned the trial of the detained executive of Binance Holdings Limited, Tigran Gambaryan, until Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

Justice Emeka Nwite on Monday also ordered the Nigerian Correctional Service in Kuje to provide Gambaryan with a wheelchair following a complaint from the Binance executive shortly after the court adjourned.

Gambaryan who was seen walking with crutches on Monday had a chat with Justice Nwite, lamenting that his health had suffered the worse due to inadequate medical care since he was remanded at Kuje.

He also reportedly told the judge that he has been living with a herniated disc since 2012, his condition has, however worsened as a result of the lack of adequate medical attention at Kuje.

Gambaryan thereafter said he now finds it difficult to walk and would be grateful if his request for a wheelchair was granted.

Justice Nwite questioned the prison official present about why Gambaryan had been denied a wheelchair and subsequently ordered that one be provided with the judge’s directive swiftly carried out.

The trial was, however, stalled because of the absence of officials of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) who were subpoenaed to produce some documents.
