Afrobeats star and Grammy-winning musician, Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy, has given fans another name to call him, Jean Béna Dieudonné.

The new nickname came to light on Friday, shortly after his recent feature on the remix of ‘4 Kampé’ with French-Haitian singer Joé Dwèt Filé.

According to a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) page, Burna Boy wrote, “My name is now Jean Béna Dieudonné.”

The self-proclaimed Odogwu showed off his French side on the remix track, spicing his verse with French lyrics and smooth delivery that blended perfectly with Joé’s vibe.

Known for constantly reinventing his sound and identity, the 33-year-old has built a reputation for switching up names just as easily as he switches genres.

Fans already know him as Big 7, El Major, African Giant, and of course, the now-iconic Odogwu.

This move follows a recent wave of Nigerian artistes breaking into French-speaking markets  with names like Rema, Ayra Starr, and Tems already touring France and Belgium.

Whether it’s a stage name for a season or a title that sticks, one thing’s clear: Burna Boy knows how to keep the conversation going.
