Cleric donate books to 2,500 Ekiti pupils
A cleric, Prophet Sam Olu Alo has distributed over 2,500 free exercise books to indigent pupils in Ekiti state ahead of Tuesday resumption.
Alo, who is the Planter of Christ Apostolic Church(CAC) Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain Worldwide, said the initiative was aimed at supporting and making his own contribution towards the wellbeing of humanity in Nigeria, particularly the state.
Speaking in Ido-Ekiti in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State while distributing the exercise books, he said the books cut across all the pupils irrespective of their religious status, saying both Christian, Muslim and even traditional worshippers benefits from it.
He urged government at all levels to fund primary education, which according to him, is the foundation of formal education that would produce future leaders.
He stated that adequate funding of education by government became necessary so as to catch and empowered the younger ones in order to prevent them from engaging in social vices in the nearest future.
He said, “As a man of God, I don’t feel comfortable if I have not made someone happy in a day,if someone hasn’t benefitted from the little resources given by God and this has propelled me in ensuring that come what may,someone has to smile home daily not minding religious affiliations”
“How do you expect a person who could not afford or find it extremely difficult to feed himself be able to fund the education of his or her children?
Prophet Alo who recalled that he too had challenges in his early life while in primary school said he knew some parents would be having financial predicament and needed government and well-to-do individuals in the society to come and render assistance particularly in funding education.
He appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all Governor’s across the nation to intervene in education sector so as to alleviate suffering of Nigerians, particularly in time of the recent increase in the price of petrol.
He stressed the need for swift government action to address these pressing issues and to restore hope to the masses.
He urged President Tinubu to leverage his administration’s resources and expertise to implement effective solutions and take decisive steps towards revitalizing the economy, ensuring security, and improving the overall quality of life for Nigerians.
The cleric also felicitated with the Olojudo of Ido-Ekiti, and Chairman Council of Obas, Oba Ilori-Faboro on his 70th Birthday Celebrations, describing the monarch as a beacon of hope and wisdom.
Alo praised Oba Ilori-Faboro’s leadership and commitment to the development of his community, saying his selfless service and dedication to the well-being of his people are exemplary.
He however prayed for the monarch’s good health, wisdom, and long life, saying this milestone birthday will mark the beginning of greater accomplishments and blessings for him and his kingdom.
