Cleric urges Nigerians to support Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda
The Patron of the Indigenous Group for Restructuring, Bishop (Dr) Joseph Ida Edoro, has urged Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s bold policies aimed at transforming Nigeria’s socio-economic development.
Edoro, who spoke, yesterday, while fielding questions from journalists at the just concluded Apostolic Round Table (ART) 2025 conference held at the Jesus Evangelical Church, Ikeja, Lagos, said that despite the hunger being experienced in the country, “there would be light at the end of the tunnel.”
He said: “The recent resuscitation of Port Harcourt and Warri refineries, and the proposed tax reforms are among the bold policies put in place by this administration.
“As the President and Minister in charge of Petroleum, Tinubu has done what previous administrations had wasted billions of naira on with nothing to show.”
He further said that if the tax reform is implemented effectively, it would enlarge the country’s revenue base, reduce over-dependence on oil revenue and equitable tax system.
The cleric, who commended the northern governors for supporting the tax reform bill despite initial opposition, said “The government needs to give more publicity to issues of national interest.
Also, in his keynote address titled “The Unity of Nigeria,” Edoro advocated inclusive governance that would enable citizens to voice their opinions and witness the implementation of policies aimed at the country’s advancement. Edoro, therefore, called on all stakeholders to join hands in addressing the challenges facing the country to ensure a brighter future for all Nigerians.
