Court orders arrest of Mercy Chinwo’s manager over $345k fraud
A Federal High Court in Lagos has granted the request of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for the arrest of Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, the manager of gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo.
The order was issued by Justice Alexander Owoeye following an ex parte motion filed by the EFCC seeking Onyedikachukwu’s appearance in court to answer to alleged criminal charges.
According to EFCC counsel Mrs. Bilikisu Buhari, the manager was accused of criminal activities related to financial mismanagement, including diverting royalties from Chinwo’s digital platforms and events.
The EFCC also accused the manager of misappropriating funds to the tune of $345,000.
This prompted the anti-graft agency to seek a warrant for his arrest in court.
