Court remands man over alleged theft of goods worth N6m
On Monday, an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court remanded a 35-year-old man, Ikechukwu Nkwuda, over alleged theft of goods worth N6 million.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Sunday Osanyintuyi told the court that Nkwuda committed the offence between June 2023 and November 2024 at No 1. Aderemi Road, Lagere, Ile-Ife.
Osanyintuyi said that the suspect entered the shop of one Okoro Frank with the intent to commit a felony.

He added that the defendant stole power banks, charges and MP3 Bluetooth (2), JBI players, total valued N6 million, property of one Okoro Frank.
He said the offence contravened sections 383(3), 390(9) and 413 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
However, Nkwuda, who was not legally represented, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of entering and stealing.
The Magistrate, Abosede Sarumi, therefore, asked for a formal bail application, ordered the remand of the suspect in Ile-Ife Nigerian Correctional Service, and adjourned the case until Feb 12 for mention.
