The Cross River Trade Fair is back after 15 years, and will enhance the state’s economy with global participation, the Commissioner for Commerce, Dr Abigail Duke Orok, has said.

Orok said that the foreign and local investors at the fair, to be held at the U J Esuene Stadium, Calabar, from November 15 to 26, 2024, will boost the economy of Cross River State and the country.

Orok disclosed this at a press briefing in Calabar, announcing the official flag-off of a series of media engagements as a prelude to the fair, which is coming 15 years after it was halted due to a lack of strong political will to hold the yearly exhibitions in the state.

She said that the press briefing is deliberately focused on highlighting the activities of the Cross River 2024 Trade Fair with the theme: ‘In Support Of Our Shared Prosperity.’

The commissioner added that the fair would be a multi-sectoral trade promotion and networking event aimed at creating opportunities for trade, business and investment promotion in the state.

Orok said: “This year’s trade fair will attract over 100,000 visitors, within and outside the country.  The gathering will, no doubt, boost the economy of not only Cross River but the nation in general.”
