Dankaka didn’t school abroad but Zaria, Kano State, says FCC

*Denies involvement in identity falsification scandal

The Federal Character Commission (FCC), on Friday, said that the chairman of the commission, Dr Muheeba Dankaka, did not school abroad as alleged by groups in a social media but Bayero University, Kano and Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, respectively.

The FCC also debunked a publication in some social media platforms that its Chairman, Muheeba Dankaka, was involved in an identity falsification scandal.

Director of Public Affairs and Communication, FCC, Dr Chuks Okoli, in a statement, said that the claim which was generated by an online news platform relied on fake sources to allege that the FCC boss was not only having issues with her identity but also had glaring discrepancies in her credentials.

Okoli said: “Federal Character Commission has strongly condemned the statements by the social media platform.

“The media organization on April 27, circulated an unproven claims that “the Executive Chairman, Federal Character Commission, Dr. Muheeba Dankaka, is presently enmeshed in identity falsification scandal which is threatening the integrity of the Commission.”

The commission however condemned publications and described them as false, mischievous, fake and sacrilegious.

“The publication was meant to denigrate the Executive Chairman, federal character commission and the publishers are enemies of Nigeria. The alleged information by legal youths and leadership initiatives limited was false and aimed at tarnishing the image of the Executive Chairman and the Commission as a whole.

“Contrary to alleged certificate discrepancies, our record, which is available for inspection, shows that Dr Muheeba Dankaka didn’t go to school abroad but Bayero University, Kano and Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, respectively, where she obtained her certificates.

“This present malicious attempt by some individuals to tarnish her the image after several failed attempts in the past is uncalled for.”

He assures members of the public, especially the media that Dankaka is not distracted in any way.

He added that in spite of all their distractions, she has remained resolute in ensuring that the mandate of the commission is achieved, which is presently yielding positive results for the betterment of the country.
