Delta monarch dissolves committees
To sanitise and reposition Aboh Kingdom in Ndokwa East Local Council for greater socio-economic transformation, His Imperial Majesty, Obi Greg Oputa III, yesterday, dissolved all constituted committees operating at different levels in the kingdom.
The dissolution was contained in his maiden royal proclamation via a statement by the Palace Secretary, Amaechi Chime. The statement listed the dissolved committees to include the Aboh Community Development Committee (CDC), Aboh Youths Council, Aboh Development Union, the Aboh Oil and Gas Committee, as well as all other committees known or unknown under whatever name or guise.
The king’s proclamation also outlawed the use of epithets, derogatory and all forms of dehumanising language, words, phrases, insinuations, innuendos and utterances to mock, disparage, denigrate or belittle any person from the Aboh kingdom on account of their ancestral or historical background.
The statement cautioned that forthwith, the use of unwarranted and unguarded utterances to demean or mock any indigene of Aboh would no longer be tolerated, as all citizens of the kingdom are equal before God.
The proclamation made it clear that all kingdoms had ruling houses like Aboh which, according to the statement, had four ruling houses. The statement warned that any violation of the order would attract severe sanctions and heavy fines.
