A governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Asue Ighodalo, yesterday, solicited the support of Edo people ahead of the forthcoming governorship election, saying: “I believe in the promise of an Edo where every person, regardless of their start in life, can write their own story of success if we take the right steps together.”

Ighodalo made the appeal during his official declaration of intention to contest the forthcoming Edo gubernatorial election at the PDP Secretariat in Benin City, Edo State.

He said: “I am here to ask you for the opportunity to act, beyond giving advice, to deliver real solutions that can unleash the promise of a new future for all of us.

“As governor, by the grace of God, my mission will be to create an Edo where quality education is accessible to all; where hard work is rewarded, and where our talented youth can turn their dreams and aspirations into reality.”

Meanwhile, Governor Godwin Obaseki has commiserated with his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde, and the people of Oyo State over Tuesday’s explosion in Ibadan, the state capital.

In a statement, Obaseki prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased, asking Him to grant affected families fortitude in their time of grief.
