The Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, has mourned the passing of Prof. Ismail Junaidu, Executive Secretary, Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC).
This is contained in a condolence message made available to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday by the Director, Press and Public Relations in the ministry, Mrs Folasade Boriowo.
The Minister described Junaidu as “a visionary leader and champion of education, whose dedication and passion made a lasting impact on the sector.
“His tireless efforts and commitment to excellence have left an indelible mark on our nation’s educational landscape.
“On behalf of the entire Ministry, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the NERDC and the family of Prof. Junaidu during this difficult time”.
The Minister prayed for the repose of  Junaidu’s soul and comfort for his loved ones during the difficult time.
Junaidu reportedly died in the early hours of July 25 in Damaturu, Yobe State, where he was attending the Joint Consultative Committee on Education (JCCE) programme.
