A pioneer Governance, Public Sector, and Political Consultancy, Modo Ante, has announced the Eko Revenue Plus summit, scheduled to take place on September 25-26, 2024, at the Eko Hotel and Towers, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The groundbreaking summit, with the theme, “Unlocking New Revenue Streams for Lagos State,” aims to explore innovative, technology-driven and citizen-friendly solutions to unlock fresh revenue opportunities to enhance the state’s revenue, ensuring the continuous provision of improved social amenities and economic opportunities.

The summit is a collaborative effort between Modo Ante and Lagos State through the Special Adviser to the Governor on Taxation & Revenue and supported by Wema Bank, which has come on board as the sponsor.

According to Modo Ante’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Joko Okupe, “the Eko Revenue Plus Summit is a revenue re-engineering project that will bring together experts from various sectors to discuss and present cutting-edge, technology-driven, citizens-friendly solutions for enhancing revenue generation.”

He said: “Some of these solutions, which hitherto did not exist, will help Lagos to develop and implement innovative platforms targeted at delivering services to citizens to harness new revenue streams, thereby positioning the state as a model for innovative governance and economic innovations in Nigeria and beyond.

We are aware that Lagos State is a home for all Nigerians, a hub for commercial and business activities and as such is continuously in need of ways to improve its revenue generation to constantly improve the lives and livelihood of its citizens and inhabitants. This is our inspiration for the summit, which is intended to be all-encompassing; involving all critical stakeholders in all aspects of the commanding heights of the economy – in Lagos, Nigeria, and globally.”

The summit will feature keynote speeches and panel discussions, facilitated by renowned experts and stakeholders who are committed to driving the economic growth and development in Lagos State.

Okupe further said: “One of the core objectives of the summit is to ensure that the state generates additional revenues to enable it to deliver improved services and amenities, which in turn, will enhance the standard of living and livelihood for Lagosians, making the state a better place to live, work and conduct business.

“Increased revenue also means more economic opportunities for the citizens and residents of Lagos State. The summit will discuss initiatives to support job creation, entrepreneurship, and the growth of small businesses. By fostering a conducive environment for economic activities, Lagos can expect to see significant advancements in its revenue base and economic landscape.”
